The Afrikan Experience

An Ourstorical Journey Through Afrika

In this 10-week course, students will take an Ourstorical journey through Afrika, from antiquity to the fall of the Songhai empire (circa 1590s). This class will begin with the Nile Valley civilizations and journey West, Central and South to explore cultures, events, geography, spirituality and more. There will be a basic introduction to Mdw Ntchr and Yoruba language/ culture. At the end of the semester, your child will have a fervor for traveling to Afrika and a deeper connection to Afrikan traditions and customs.
